Pre-Marital Counseling
Premarital counseling prepares engaged or pre-engaged couples for marriage. I walk couples through the process of setting expectations for marriage based on healthy expectations for yourself, your partner, and your relationship. My goal is for you to understand yourself and partner through effective and healthy communication. I will walk with you as you learn more about your personality, your partner's personality, communication styles and challenges, in order to better explore issues such as finances, roles in the marriage, sex, children & parenting, the in-laws, and spirituality.

I use the Gottman Relationship Checkup Assessment to help identify both your strengths and weaknesses as a couple. This assessment is by no means a test on your compatibility as a couple. There is no failing this assessment. The assessment provides a foundation and a path to help me understand what needs to be a focus during our time together.

Pre-Marital counseling is typically 8, 50-minute sessions in which we will do intake, assessment, exploring issues based on the assessment results and your own goals for pre-marital counseling. Special rates are offered to couples wanting pre-marital counseling. See the Fees & Insurance page for more information.
